Google Fitbit Air
(Special Edition Stephen Curry)
Google Fitbit Air is a compact, screenless activity tracker designed for people who want continuous health and fitness data without wearing another notification-heavy smartwatch. At only 12 grams with the band, it quietly tracks heart rate, HRV, SpOโ, sleep stages, activity, and workouts throughout the day and night, then sends those insights to the Google Health app when you’re ready to review them.
With up to seven days of battery life, 50-meter water resistance, and fast charging that can provide about a day’s power in five minutes, Fitbit Air makes long-term tracking easier to maintain with fewer interruptions. It can also work with Google Health Coach for personalized guidance, although those coaching features require Google Health Premium.

AT A GLANCE
Best For
Especially appealing for sleep tracking, everyday activity, workouts, or users who simply do not want another screen and another stream of notifications.
Routine Fit
Its low weight, week-long battery potential, automatic activity detection, and screenless design make it particularly suited to wearing continuously rather than only during workouts.
May Not Be Ideal For
There is no display for checking pace, messages, workout metrics, or notifications in real time. More advanced personalized coaching also depends on Google Health Premium.
Why We Recommend It
Most fitness trackers compete for attention with brighter screens, more notifications, and more reasons to check your wrist. Fitbit Air is compelling because it removes that distraction without removing the tracking itself. Its screenless design is built around the idea that health data can be collected quietly in the background and reviewed later, when you actually want to look at it.
That approach fits especially well for people who want a better picture of their daily activity, sleep, and recovery signals but do not necessarily want another smartwatch. Fitbit Air tracks 24/7 heart rate, resting heart rate, HRV, SpOโ, sleep stages and duration, along with movement and workout data, then syncs those insights to the Google Health app.
Comfort is another major reason we recommend it. The tracker weighs only 5.2 g without the band and 12 g with it, making it significantly less intrusive than many traditional wearables. That matters because sleep and recovery tracking are only useful if the device is comfortable enough to keep wearing overnight.
Battery life also supports that continuous-wear idea. Google rates Fitbit Air for up to seven days of battery life, with a full charge taking about 90 minutes and a five-minute quick charge providing roughly one day of use. Fewer charging interruptions make it easier to capture a more consistent picture of activity and sleep rather than creating gaps every day or two.
We also like that the experience is intentionally separated into two parts: the tracker collects, the phone explains. When you want deeper insights, the Google Health app becomes the place to review the data and, with compatible services, access more personalized guidance. When you do not want to engage with it, there is no display on your wrist asking for attention.
The tradeoff is equally clear. If you want live workout stats, maps, messages, music controls, or notifications directly on your wrist, Fitbit Air is intentionally the wrong product. Some of the more advanced coaching experience is also tied to Google Health Premium. But for someone whose priority is continuous tracking with less digital noise, those limitations are part of what makes Fitbit Air distinctive rather than shortcomings to hide.
